Affordable Healthcare Act Changes
Beginning January 1st, a provision of the Affordable Healthcare Act goes into effect and impacts dental offices nationwide. Known as an Excise Tax, this provision imposes a tax on the sale of certain medical devices. As of January 1st, dental crowns will be considered medical devices. This policy also impacts dental supplies and materials. As such, our office will attach a $10 fee to each visit with the doctor and $25 to each fixed/removable prosthesis (i.e., crown, denture, partial, etc).
